Every now & then I just need to do something that is not boy! I love green & pink - so I hope Tessa likes this quick little layout I did for her.

Today we held one of our Primary quarterly activities. Thank goodness it's over & it seemed to turn out ok. We had made muslin dolls (ok - I didn't make any dolls, but mom did. I know she didn't enjoy it so we're going to chock it up to yet another one of her amazing good deeds). At the activity we decorated the dolls to resemble a person in each child's family - someone that has helped to make their family eternal. We had pioneers, grandparents & lots of Sunbeams did their own parents :) At the primary program in October each child will give a talk & tell a story about the person that their doll resembles. I've been a little nervous about it all - it seems a little overzealous to me, but I do have to admit, the dolls turned out very cute. I guess I can't actually call it a "Primary" activity as most parents did stay to help their kids.

Well, I'm just here waiting for the laundry to get done so I can go to bed - and I'm falling asleep. Good night blog!

I haven't scrapped in days (I know that sounds silly!) but all my digi supplies that were completely organized on my EHD - somehow got untagged, meaning I couldn't find anything. In my few extra moments I've started to go back & get organized, but tonight as the wind is blowing and the snow is flying & parent teacher conferences were cancelled due to the weather I decided I just needed to go for it.

Tomorrow will be there to continue preparing for the Primary activity on Saturday and finishing my sharing time for Sunday.

John is off on a field trip tomorrow - tubing 1/2 the day & going to a nature center at the park the other half. I think he'll be glad for all this fresh new snow. He went to the temple on Wednesday night with the YM/YW & had a good time. His current enjoyment is his Technology Ed class this semester. They've been building metal cars (and this is fun?) and he's having the time of his life.

I've been helping with Ben's Destination Imagination team this week while one of the leaders is on vacation. Kids can be so frustrating, but after helping Ben with some stuff tonight I think he'll go tomorrow with a new attitude. It was pretty interesting to watch kids complain & whine & then when I showed Ben how to give everyone something to do so they would feel included & part of it they all had a great time. Ben is so serious about it & the rest of them all goof off, so he's having to really step up and be a leader.

Latest layouts...

I've just been feeling so ugh... so this is my little escape from the noisiness of the rest of my life. :)
These are all for various different challenges...
We are officially done with the digi scrapping race. While it was fun & I did get a ton of 'stuff' I was ready for it to be over.

Other news, I took John to the eye dr. today (he failed the eye exam at school) & he is going to be the proud recipient of new contact lenses. We debated between glasses & contacts, but I just felt like contacts would be easier for him. Ok... of to play a quick game of Mario Kart with Ben before Survivor starts.

It's Valentines Day

And my ever so little contribution to the day of love is a layout for the loves of my life!

You're thinking what a slacker mom huh? No, I also bought each child a heart shaped box of Reese's minatures. Ok, so what if Ben was with me & picked them out. I didn't let them have them until the big day! Beyond that, yes... I got cutesy little valentines at work but John is beyond Valentines (thank goodness!) He did attend the Activity Night at school last night but that basically entailed hanging out with the boys playing Rock Band & drinking pop. Ben chose not to take anything to school - even though I was quite insistent he should. Rather they could take games to school & he was excited to take this finger football game we have. Apparently it was the big winner of all games . Today he was invited to hang out with his church buddy Joey. They are the only 2 boys amongst a class of girls & Joey goes to a different school so that was his fun time today. All in all I didn't contribute to the economy on this Valentines Day.

Now... if you're wondering why I even confess to my pathetic attempts at celebrating a holiday just meander on over to Jodi's blog & you'll see that I'm nowhere close to her level of motherhood. Isn't it a beautiful thing that we are all so unique & different . I think I better get a heads up on St. Patricks Day so I can compete a bit better!

Have a happy day of love!

This was a challenge where I had to ask a question - it couldn't be answered. Since this is a question I ask daily I decided to use it.

This was using some supplies I actually won (YEA!) at Jen Wilson Designs. She has weekly chats as she releases new stuff & has silly trivia. I won 4 new paper & element packs (worth $13) just by answering (very quickly) in the show Brady Bunch how many boys were in the house. The things we do for free stuff ! :)

John's writing

John turning in his homework is a constant struggle so there have been times after he does something we just e-mail it to the teacher. Love those teachers who work with us :) Anyway, last night I went to e-mail something he had written & didn't take the time to read it so I sneakily sent it to myself at work so I could see what he had written. I love to read his writing - it's so descriptive. I thought I would share. He had to teach someone something & write about it...

"I taught my brother Ben to count in French because I am learning foreign languages and this is a good use for that knowledge. I used my Brother Ben for my unfortunate test subject due to his proximity and the fact that he didn't have anything else to do.

As I taught him the first three letters I had the impression that he thought everything he said had to be said in a French accent leading to laughable. After getting him to sound audible I taught him four, five and six (My personal favorite French numbers) he seemed to have trouble with these however we blazed through this section. As I taught him the last numbers I realized that whenever I quizzed him the following conversation ensued: "What is... 9," I would ask. "Un, Deux, Trois, Quatre, Cinq, Six, Sept," he would say under his breath, "Sept, the answer is Sept." This made me wonder whether I was actually much of teacher material. After teaching Ben these numbers he forced me to count from one to thirty-one in French which I pleasantly was able to accomplish."

*Note, all punctuation is exact.
