Releasing the floodgates of emotion

This made me laugh so I had to write it down so I don't forget it.

John is a pretty funny guy - after any type of social outing, i.e. party, temple trip etc. he LOVES to talk & talk & talk. I generally learn quite a bit about the goings on of the youth in the ward during this 'decompression', which is what we call it. Tonight I picked him up after a temple trip & he was quiet driving home. I inquired as to the silence & his response was he hadn't 'compressed' so he didn't need to 'decompress'. I asked exactly what that meant ... and this was his definition of decompression....

"Releasing the floodgates of emotion" - I kid you not! I started laughing so hard & he just started laughing & said he was just improvising... yea right!
